About Us

Who We Are

We are a neighborhood of seventy-one homes in Santa Fe County, New Mexico. La Mariposa is located northwest of the city of Santa Fe about a fifteen-minute drive from the Plaza. Located in former ranch country among piñon-juniper covered hills, we have views to the Sangre de Cristo Range to the east and the Jemez mountains to the west. We are the western-most community served by the Santa Fe County water system. Landline telephone, cable internet/TV, gas utilities and a network of fire hydrants serve us, but each lot is dependent upon its own septic system. We own and maintain our paved roads. We are a Firewise certified community. This is a vibrant association supported by active, engaged homeowners.

Our Monthly Dues

Our dues are assessed primarily to maintain our 2-1/2 miles of paved roads, one of the distinguishing features of our neighborhood. We do monthly and yearly maintenance, but our reserve is maintained to fund replacement every couple of decades. We manage the reserve with mathematical prediction and set the yearly dues to maintain sufficient funds for eventual replacement. By this means we avoid special assessments and keep the dues at a predictable level for the benefit of our homeowners. Our dues are currently (2026) $1,394/year.
